How it works

Three steps

Never been to an alterations tailor before? It is more straightforward than most people expect.

  1. 1

    Bring it in

Bring the garment to us on Ostender Straße. Ideally with the shoes or the belt you wear with it — that makes the length unambiguous.

  2. 2

    Fitting and measuring

You put the garment on, we pin it and take the measurements. While we do, we talk through what the cut allows and what it does not.

  3. 3

    Collect

We agree a time for you to collect it. If something is not sitting right, we look at it again there and then.

Workshop

Working on the garment itself

An alteration does not start at the sewing machine. It starts at the garment: how the cloth falls, where the seam sits, how much hem is turned under. That is what decides what is possible. So we look and pin first, and sew afterwards.

The work is done on the garment you already own and already like wearing. A hem at the right length, a waist that fits, a new zip — usually it is a small amount of work that makes a large difference.
